What is the membership procedure to the OMRCC?
The current members of the OMRCC are all organisations / individuals with experience and
interest in marine conservation and sustainable fisheries. The OMRCC is envisaged to grow
and welcomes new members. Please refer the OMRCC brochure for more information.
A simple procedure for membership is presented below:
Guiding Principles for membership to the OMRCC:
Members of the OMRCC should undertake projects that attempt to integrate conservation and
livelihoods of fisherfolk. Their activities and interventions should address the subject
of coastal or marine conservation and fisherfolk livelihoods.
- Any potential member (individual / organisation) seeking membership to the OMRCC with an interest in the above should have demonstrated experience in the field / competence in the subject.
- Potential members should have a working interest in Orissa such that they are able to provide value to the state on these issues.
- Individual members can join the OMRCC.
- The OMRCC Advisory Committee will screen membership applications.
- A one-page note should be submitted about the potential member to the Advisory Committee.
- There will be an annual review of members by the Advisory Committee.
- If a member or a representative member of the OMRCC is absent for 3 consecutive meetings, then the Advisory Committee can ask for an explanation and can also request the member to leave the OMRCC.
- Membership fee: An initial fee of Rs 100 shall be charged from all members of the ORMCC. This applies to individuals as well as organisations.
